Stampbords ultra smooth clay finish is an ideal stamping surface. The Stampbord surface accepts all traditional stamping colors including dye based and pigment inks. The absorbency of the clay surface allows for perfect, clean impressions everytime. The surface allows for color application without runs. And no matter how saturated the surface becomes, the material will never buckle. With the 3mm thick stiff backing, the Stampbord is perfect for combining stamping and layered collage. Use it for jewelry and other gift giving ideas. Scratch that "silver lining" into your clouds, or reveal individual blades of grass on an open meadow. And, hey, if you don't like what you've stamped in a given area - no problem, just sand it off the board. Stampbord is very forgiving and you can erase almost any ink right off with oil-free steel wool without affecting the integrity of the surface. The greatest aspect of these boards is the fact that, because the surface is clay, the stamper can scratch back into the surface to apply details and textures to the design. With traditional surfaces of various card stocks the process has always been an additive one. With Stampbord, the ability to do subtractive techniques opens up an entirely new extension to one's repertoire. For example, in landscape stamping, one can scratch in highlights on rocks making them appear more three dimensional. |
